In case you didn’t know, you can get one for free.
However, if you’re training a working retriever, I don’t recommend using sticks.
Sticks are hard for a dog to grip properly, so many dogs grip the sticks rather hard.
That’s a very good way to get the habit of hard mouth started.
Now, if you’re training your cat to fetch, sticks aren’t so bad.
Ah ha. Someone once told me that above being impersonal, nothing done in business is in vain. I beg to differ.
I had a kitty that loved fetching little wads of paper. He thought it was the coolest game ever. =)
Haha, I don’t know who would buy it, but I can see why someone would try to sell it. A local craft store sells “paper mache mix” and I wonder the same thing…
Well…that obviously is not a “real” cat. A “real” cat would not lower it’s dignity by retrieving anything. And attitude…that cat had not one ounce of attitude. I think this proves, without a doubt, that that was not a real cat. Sorry. :)
There’s a sucker born every minute…
Now the CAT I’d buy. Maybe.
Jeesum crow, why didn’t I think of that! I could be getting rich with ‘value-added,’ wild-harvested, hand-crafted Vermont sticks.
Sticks haven’t given my dog a hard mouth. He still retrieved a live pet duck (!) when visiting friends and dropped it at its owners feet, unharmed. He prefers a stick to a ball any day.
OTOH, he’s not a working retriever, just an enjoyable dog. Well, he does keep coyotes away. But his main job is stick patrol.
