You can see from this litter of golden puppies with a dark golden mother and cream sire what the inheritance is. These puppies’ ears tell us that most of them will mature fairly dark in color, though probably not as dark as their mother:
One of these puppies will likely be a light gold, but the rest will be middle to dark gold in color.
Cream is not dominant over the dark colors in terms of inheritance.

“I will never stop hating you for putting me through this.”
I need to find more pics of bitches who can’t stand their puppies.
At least they’d have some stooge helper to take care of them some of the time in the wild.
I have only gotten one photo like that in all my litters. Zora was a good mother to her babies when they were very small but didn’t dote on them; I have a photo of her archived somewhere with eight pups hanging off of her, while she gives the death ray glare to their father. She liked them a lot better once they were of an age to be humped and squished, and would start regurging food for them again. Her daughters Kali and Trinity will still sometimes feed their babies, which are almost five and two years old respectively.
My older Golden came from a litter of 12. Her father was cream color and her mother was dark. The litter had six shades of Gold ranging from very light to very dark and did so in two’s. My Golden was lighter than the middle golds but darker than the lightest golds. She is now a middle gold on her top coat and very white looking underneath.
I think her litter picture is very cool looking with the varying shades of gold.
