This may answer it:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1315964/One-extinct-animals-turn-again.html
Maybe things aren’t so bad afterall.
It doesn’t answer this question, but I saw that today and I was amazed.
Am amazing thing to think that these extinct species are just really rare.
looks like a marsupial species, and the hands remind me of nocturnal arboreals –
similar to a bushbaby or aye-aye.
– t
The hands are the key to the identity.
the pelage reminds me of a water-opossum [DIDELPHIDAE]
in color + pattern, but the feet are all wrong –
the water-opossum has claws + feet are WEBBED distinctly.
this one has short nails that do not appear to project beyond the toe-pads.
hmmm…
South American water opossum, Chironectes minimus.
Wad? Looks like the opossum u just showed us… Or, other words, may I say, some curious American furry, naked tail marten -species.
can I change? It is a rat.
It looks like somebody cut out some feet and pasted them on a raccoon picture.
nah… the face is wrongly-shaped, tail is mostly nude,
body a lot less robust; coons are distinctly teardrop shaped with narrow fronts + broad butts, their strong hindquarters are taller than their skinny shoulders, and their paws are more handlike – and dark in color, too.
the knobby knuckles, spatulate finger-pads and light color are all strong differences from the tapering, dexterous and strong paws of a coon.
these resemble a mammalian knock-off of a gecko…
but with smaller toe-pads.
still think this is a possum… or relative thereof.
strange beast,
– terry
Are you making fun of the fact that I lost my thumbs
during early childhood?
The animal is a coon ass turkey, commonly found in
the swaps in La.
Could it be a grey four eyed opossum (Philander opossum) Scottie? Muzzle looks a little short but that’s my best guess!
That muzzle was bugging me and then i paid a bit more attention to the saddle like markings on its back so my updated guess is water opossum. Chironectes minimus….if this is wrong my next guess is Willie in a racoon skin suit!
Isn’t that the Michael Phelps of possumdom?
Complete with waterproof pouch I recall CTC!
